So excited

Now that the weather is getting warmer (90 today), it excites me for what is to come in later years. I drive by Tower Grove Park every day to go home (obviously since i live 3 blocks from it) and I almost always see a softball or baseball team practicing.  I never thought I would say this is the sport I am most excited to put our baby girl in, but it is.  I have forgotten how much I love the sport.  I know that Grandpappie will be excited to read this post!  I can already feel that she is gonna be a GREAT softball player!!  :)

I'm also excited because our baby has a doctor.  I was really struggling with this decision because I wanted someone not too far away, but someone I trusted.  I orignally wanted to go to my pediatrician, Dr. Sato, but he is too far out.  So I did some asking around, and actually decided on a doctor that a lot of the children in my class go to.  His name is Dr. Plax and he has been in the practice for 12 years and is surrounded by pediatricians.  His dad, sister and wife are all pediatricians.  He also received rave reviews by the families in my class.  How could I pass up such a great opportunity?  He is also in Clayton which is a short 15 minute drive!!!

Now I still need to finish packing this bag and then all that is left is having this baby!  :)

Welcome, Little Girl!

I just wanted to welcome baby Savannah Grace Olson into the world.  Greg and I were honored to meet her Sunday afternoon.  She is healthy, beautiful, and has GREAT facial expressions already (something that I know comes from her mother.)  We hope that she will have a playmate soon!!!  (It better be soon, there are only 2 weeks left!)

Speaking of baby Berger, here are a few pictures of her nursery...

Surpirses...

The last two baby showers that I've had have been a surprise. Supposedly. I think I am just a difficult person to surprise. Maybe its because deep down I enjoy surprise parties, but I'm just too nosy to keep my curiosity to a minimum.

Surprise Bust #1:
Greg's family decided to throw me a surprise shower the Sunday after my shower that Amanda threw. The invitation that I received was for a Beauti Control Spa party. Now, the party was out in Hillsboro and Sundays are what I like to call my lazy days. We have kickball and then a family dinner at one house or the other. Driving to Hillsboro was not on my list. Greg agreed. He did not feel it was necessary for me to drive all the way out there and feel rushed throughout the day. (He did not know about the party, BIG mistake.) So the weekend before, Greg's cousin asked if I was going to the party, I, of course, said no. She was a little upset but I just brushed it off. I do attend every party/event/get together that his family has. I wanted a "me" day. Then two days later, Greg started pushing me to go. I was a little suspicious and even asked if it was a surprise shower. He acted dumbfounded that I would even suggest that. After 2 more days of pushing, I finally said yes, and lo and behold, a baby shower it was!!!

Surprise Bust #2:

My co-workers threw me a surprise baby shower yesterday. I really was completely out of the loop and clueless until yesterday afternoon. We had a third teacher in our room for the day and she kept getting pulled for one reason or the other. I thought this to be strange, but really didn't think anything of it because she is the floater and that was normal. Then, I of course left on my break to get more thank you notes, and was bombarded with phone calls from another co worker. This, of course, is unusual because she NEVER calls me. Then, when I came back, I saw another teacher in the hallway and she froze like a statue when she saw me, kind of like she got busted. Welp, she did, because that finalized it for me. I went down the the staff lounge with the co worker who called me during my break after asking her if there was a surprise shower. Alas, there was, and I put a smile on my face and acted surprised!

Both showers were beautiful and I am grateful for my family and friends. Just don't try to throw me a surprise party. Chances are, I will figure it out before the actual event.
