Long over due

Blogging has not been a top priority lately, and I apologize.  Not much has happened in our world.  Sam is pulling up and cruising, she is talking jibberish more and more.  She LOVES to tackle her stuffed animals and eats more than I can keep up with.  She still has NO teeth and she is officially in 12 month clothes (tear).  I just cleaned out her closet and dresser and it makes me sad to say such things.  Oh well.  Our little baby is growing up into a beautiful little girl.  We are proud parents and are enjoying every moment we get to spend with her.  :)

Other than that, nothing's new.

Updates

Every day Sam seems to learn a new skill or do something she has yet to do (not necessarily a "skill").

For instance, she now loves to wrestle with her lamb as well as climb all over Greg and me.  I don't think its long before she truly begins to rough house with Greg and Finnegan!  She also looooooves to give kisses.  And its not just a lean in kind of thing.  She opens her mouth and sticks out her tongue.  Greg and I have already discussed that we are in for it!  :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  She is pulling up on everything!  She has also started to cruise.  Just the other day, she figured out how to push up on her feet using the floor as her support.  I'm just waiting for the day when she looks at me and just goes!!

Sam also seems to have developed a rash on her face.  First I thought it was from Geoffrey, so he(x2) got a bath.  It didn't clear.  So I started putting Vaseline on it.  Nothing.  Then a friend told me to use A&D on it.  It helped, but it gets worse throughout the day.  Sooooo...my next goal is to back track all the things that she has had new in the last couple of weeks and eliminate them from her diet.  First thing to go: yogurt.  Oh man, I sure do hope that she isn't allergic to milk...
If that doesn't work, then I'm just going to conclude that my DD has rather sensitive skin and deal.  I have already talked to the doctor about the rash that sometimes develops on her bottom and he told me that with her skin type its truly hard to tell if its just a sensitive skin thing, or something more.  He also said the dry weather could be a factor.  Here's hoping!!!

Fat Flush:
So hard.  So very hard.  I have had to tweak my meals so that I am within guidelines.  For instance, last night I made this spinach and chicken pasta for Greg.  Well to make it worth my while, I nixed the pasta, added broccoli and peas and upped the spices.  Pretty tasty, actually!  The night before I made burritos, his with "cream cheese" (I used non fat yogurt, but shhhhh don't tell) and rice and I got the chicken, beans and veggies.  I shouldn't have had the wrap, but I gave in!  :)  Otherwise, its just a hot mess on a plate!

I actually enjoy the cran water and the hot lemon water I get in the mornings.  I am rather hungry throughout the day though.  My solution:  Gum.  Let's hope this works!!!

Big eater

I can't seem to keep up with Sam's eating!

On a daily basis she will have:
3-4 bottles (4 to 8 oz depending on the time of day)
A bowl of oatmeal (usually with yogurt or a serving of fruit in it)
approximately 2 handfuls of puffs
yogurt bites
1/2 a graham cracker
2 servings of veggies
2 servings of fruit
buttered toast

and I try to get meats in her diet at least twice a week.

She is eating more bite sized foods rather than pureed.  She enjoys them very much.  I feel like I am constantly in the kitchen making her food!  Its CRAZY!!!!

Maybe I'm ready for her growing to slow down.  If I stop feeding her such yummy things, do you think that could happen?!  ;0)
