I apologize for not blogging very often.  Its amazing how true the story goes.  Being in the third trimester has been nothing but exhausting.  It hasn't helped that we have been extra stressed at work worrying about packing and moving our school.  This past weekend we moved all weekend long.  It was great.  I'm glad its over with, however, now the children are back to their crazy selves that they were when we first started in the room LAST August.  So, I'd say we need an adjusting period.  We will probably be back to normal right when my baby comes.
We also entertained this past weekend.  We had Greg's parents, Grandma and brother over for dinner.  Its the first time his parents have seen our house since we moved, and his grandmother had never seen it.  Carl has been over plenty of times, but it was his first time seeing the nursery.  All loved it.
Greg has been off the past 2 days and down at his dad's shop working away on projects.  he is making a bench for the bathroom so we have a place to store all of our baby girl's bath things, he is building shelves to go in our room so that we can make it a little more personal, and he is making a bookshelf for all the wonderful books we received at baby showers.  I'd say the baby's room will be done after that!  YAY!
As far as the baby goes, she as dropped tremendously.  I think she still has a foot or leg up my right ribcage, but other than that my pain in the front has disappeared.  My back still hurts, but I see that being the case until she is out.  I am ready for her to be out because as I stated before, my days are long and exhausting.  Only 5 more weeks! :)

Thankful

My dad had quadruple bypass on Thursday and it has been nothing but a blessing that he had the #1 heart team on his side.  It was also nice that my mom and I knew his surgeon from the gym.  Its a small world.  He has been recovering quickly.  He was off the ventilator 6 hours ahead of schedule and out of CVR (or ICU) 24 hours early.  The one thing that I love about my dad (ok one of the many) is that when he puts his mind to something, he will get it done in no time.  And right now, that something is recovering.  Now we just have to wait for his kidneys to get back to normal before he can come home.  Hopefully that will be Monday.  But we will see.  Unfortunately, because of his kidneys, he can not be on pain killers, so he is in a heck of a lot of pain.  :(  He is doing well, and I am so lucky to have a dad like him.  I wouldn't be me without him!!!  :)

Baby Got Back...Yo

The baby's new favorite thing is to push her butt out on my stomach.  It had been on the right side of my stomach, but immediately after I told Greg that, she flipped and is currently sticking her butt out on the left side.  She just wants the world to know that baby got back.  She's proud of that rear and wants everyone to know!  :)

When the Husband's Away...

Greg has left me, again.  I'm sad about this.  I always think I can handle it and then I get sad.  I think its because responsibility falls completely on me, and for some reason too much responsibility scares me.  It's a new phenomenon, but I really don't like that quality about me, or should I say fault.  Luckily, he is only gone for the weekend.  However, responsibility still hit today.  We did not pay our property taxes for 2008 (whoops!), so I had to go downtown and take care of it.  Not a big deal.  Greg and I had already called them to find out what I would need to bring, and then we called to double check, triple check, quadruple check...you could say that I'm a little neurotic about that kind of stuff.  I just did not want to show up there and not have everything they needed and then have to go back.  Well, that's exactly what happened.  It was no problem registering and paying for my car (the Honda).  However, somehow my car almost doubled its value as it got one year older... hmmm.  But since Greg's Pathfinder was registered in Jefferson County, they could not look it up; and since I did not have previous property tax receipts for his car, I could not register or pay for his.  So, that means that I have to go BACK on Monday before work and take care of it.  Oh the joys of being grown up.  No one ever told me that when I grew up there would be so many little things that pop up.  I think that if I had a choice, I would go to Never Land.  Peter Pan had the right idea.
What was worse, Greg was not around to talk to because he is on a silent retreat.  So, when the husband's away, the wife cries.

baby update

I went to the doctor today.  :)  She said I was growing just fine and actually said I should put on 10 more pounds before the baby is born.  She said that I will have no problem with this, and I believe her!!  She said baby Berger is at approximately 3 pounds and she is anticipating her to be between 6 1/2 - 7 lbs.  We will see if her predictions are correct!  It would be just LOVELY if they were!!  I am getting excited for this little girl to come into the world.  What a world to come in to!

Random thoughts out loud...

So I was just talking to my dad on Facebook (about ice cream) and it occurred to me that being 29 weeks pregnant, I have not taken advantage of the "eat whatever you want while pregnant" theory.  I want things constantly, but they go as quickly as they come.  Usually, too quickly for me to respond to them.  I do always want Lion's Choice and could probably eat that every day.  However, this is no different than BEFORE being pregnant.  I have not really had "cravings".  It kind of makes me sad because I think it would have been fun.  Well, for me anyway.  At least its saved us on random spending.  Hey, the baby is already looking out for us.  What a good little girl!  ;)
Another thought...I have realized that I don't like this whole being pregnant thing keep me from doing what I've always done.  I still workout (as long as I'm not sick) and I still do every day things...such as clean the house, walk the dog, play with the kiddos, etc. (OK so my life really isn't that hard to begin with.) I am SURE there are things that I should not be doing, but I don't like anyone telling me I can't do something.  It makes me want to do it even more.  I think that would be the stubbornness in me.
I've also realized that depending on the shirt I wear, I sometimes look bigger than other times. Black really does make you look slimmer.  There will be days at work where people will tell me "oh you don't look that big at all.  yesterday you looked bigger."
I also realized that my baby bump pictures make me look bigger than I really am. Every time I look at those I think to myself that I am not that big, REALLY!  Oh well.  Its just displayed on Facebook for friends and family.  they enjoy it!!!
Ok that's all the random thoughts for now!

Coughing...again...

I was well for a week, and now, I'm sick again.  I feel that this time, its just adding to current aches and pains.  My ribs and my back hurt more now than before.  The amounts of heat and Tylenol are not helping.  I'm not here to complain, just to vent.  I went on Z-pack before in hopes that it would kick this, but I think it just suppressed it.  Now I have to make the decision if it is worth going on antibiotics again, or if I should just tough it out.  I am currently eating cough drops like candy and taking my Sudaphed every 4 hours.  I don't seem to be quite as congested, but I think I would rather be congested than have a cough.  Coughing + pregnancy = not a good combination.  I guess the good that comes out of it is that Greg and I are both home tomorrow.  Greg to clean, me to rest.  We will be the host and hostess to 3 Kansas City boys beginning tomorrow night.  The boys plan to test their manliness by drinking themselves silly at Mardi Gras Saturday morning/afternoon.  According to Cindy Presler (helmet head), it is supposed to be cloudy, maybe a flurry or two with a high of 31.  Good luck boys!!!
I, on the other hand, plan on driving them to their destination and then coming home to a warm and cozy home.  Then, depending on how WE feel, possibly going to see a movie with a friend.  Yes, we are both pregnant; and we are both sick.  Ahhh, the joys!!!

In the world of the baby, we are going thru all the hand-me-down clothes to see what we shall keep and what we shall give away.  Baby Berger is one lucky girl, as is her mom and dad!!!  We are so thankful for the generosity of our friends.    Greg hopes to meet up with his uncle to pick up our baby crib and dresser/changing table.  Then maybe, just maybe, our baby girl's room will look more like a nursery and less  like a storage room.  Then it will be time for me to go through all of my clothes, decide what I want and what I don't, and pass them on.  First, to my mom, and then to Goodwill.  :)

Finnegan is doing well.  He had a playdate on Wednesday with 2 other dogs.  One is a 7 year old black lab and the other is a 6 month old puggle.  It was really cute to watch them, and what was better, he was WIPED when we got home.  He could barely lift his head off his pillow all night.  I think he needs more of these things called playdates.  Hopefully soon, we will get him a playdate with a one year old great dane!  That was the plan for Saturday, but with the weather so cold, we opted against it.  :)  So, for now, its postponed!
